Two of the most devastating tools that the United States used during the Vietnam war were Napalm and Agent Orange. Napalm can be made of of many different substances but one thing that is required is gasoline. Napalm is a jelly like substance that can stick to almost anything. Napalm can also burn at over five thousand degrees Fahrenheit or two thousand seven hundred and sixty degrees Celsius. Napalm can cause firestorms with self-perpetuating wind of up to seventy miles per hour. "Napalm is the most terrible pain you can imagine," said Kim Phúc, a Napalm bombing survivor known for her famous photograph pictured on the left. "Water boils at 100 degrees Celsius (212°F). Napalm generates temperatures of 800 to 1,200 degrees Celsius (1,500-2,200°F)." Agent Orange was another tool used by the United States during the Vietnam war it is made up of multiple herbicides and got its name because of the orange striped barrels that it was shipped in. It was used in the United States military as part of their herbicidal warfare program also known as Operation Ranch Hand. Agent Orange can cause a myriad of health problem and can devastate the ecosystem that it is deployed into.
